Not Enough Teachers Have the Knowledge, Empathy, and Training to Help Struggling Readers!

My Mission

In the next year, I’m on a mission to coach and teach 1,000 mothers how to become Syllable Division Queens! A child’s mother is his/her first teacher! If your child falls short in reading, you can use the knowledge you gain from my live coaching Membership to prevent academic failure for your child!

If your child attends school every day and is still a struggling reader, you don’t want to miss these live trainings!

Did you know that 2/3 of students in grades 4 and 8 fall short on statewide reading assessments? Because 2/3 of students in grades 4 and 8 do not read accurately and fluently, this leads to:

increased high school dropout rates

low-paying jobs

incarceration

It’s critical that you learn strategies to support your children so that they have an added layer of protection against illiteracy!

If your child has an I.E.P and is a struggling reader...

After engaging with my literacy coaching, your child will begin to feel more confident and will begin to read more accurately. You’ll probably hear him/her say:

Dr. Alison Parker’s Five Facts About Dyslexia

  1. Our children inherit our beauty and brains. Dyslexia is a learning disability that is passed down genetically from a parent who has ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or dysgraphia.
  2. Dyslexia is a lifelong learning disability. It’s not a medical problem, so there is no cure. Students learn strategies to decode words which helps them become more fluent, accurate readers.
  3. 1 out of 5 people have mild, moderate, or severe/profound dyslexia. It is very prevalent! In a typical classroom of 25 students, at least 5 students will be impacted.
  4. Students with dyslexia are very bright! They tend to be better in math and their brains tend to be more wired for problem-solving, patterns, creativity, and technology! The Orton-Gillingham method or the structured literacy approach helps readers recognize patterns in words.
  5. Many students who have an IEP for speech are dyslexic. Having speech services will help students develop both receptive and expressive language skills. However, students must learn how to decode words to start the journey to become powerfully literate!
